Kent Dog Training Classes

Welcome to a practical, fun and proven way to train your dog, creating lasting memories, training commands, techniques and skills for you and your dog.

Located in Sittingbourne, Kent, this course has been carefully crafted by Jackie Murphy so that dogs and dog owners can learn the fundamentals of dog training with tried and tested techniques, taking your skills and confidence to the next level with Specialist Dog Training whilst ensuring that the learned good habits at class last a lifetime through manners, socialisation and fun.

All training classes use reward-based techniques, allowing you to build a bond with your dog to last a lifetime and say goodbye to some of those problematic problems. Participating in our practical dog training course means that you will join our community of fellow dog owners and dogs because each class will have a maximum of six dogs, allowing your fellow students to encourage you throughout. This will be a controlled, relaxed and fun environment so that nervous or anxious dogs who are in need of socialisation are catered for through Jackie’s expertise and guidance.

Each week of the dog training course will see you carry out different tasks and commands as you learn processes, the best know-how, information to help give you a real understanding of your dog and best practices from Jackie. Rest assured though, Jackie knows that every dog owner who attends her class arrives with different dog behavioural problems or areas of focus (let’s be honest, we’ve all been on Google and YouTube frantically typing questions such as ‘why does my dog’ or ‘how to get my dog to’), so to ensure individual needs and goals are met, Jackie will give you one-to-one time to cover your specific problems and incorporate these into the lesson time.

This dog training course will take place outside on the secure, private, gated and fenced Specialist Dog Training field, enabling you and your dog to have training in environments that will be encountered on a day to day basis.

All dogs, no matter their size, breed or age are welcome to join our dog training courses, just like us humans, no dog is too old to learn or make new friends!

What you need to join the class

As this course is held outdoors, you are advised to dress to suit the weather conditions. You will need to bring sufficient dog treats for your dog and please also remember to be a responsible dog owner and clear up after your dog, so plenty of poo bags/plastic bags.

Dog training courses are for owners and their dog (one dog per owner). All dogs must wear a collar, lead or harness/head collar and an identification tag. All dogs need to be fully vaccinated. If your dog does come into contact with any infectious/contagious diseases or conditions before the course starts (such as kennel cough or mange) you need to have your dog checked by a vet before bringing them to the class.

What others thought

Pamela Purnell

The success of any dog depends on the skills of a good dog trainer. A trainer who has people skills as well as dog training skills, a knowledgeable trainer who has a good solid background in dog behaviour. And is also a dog lover first and foremost. This sums up Jackie Murphy of Specialist Dog Training.
